Betty Woodall

Obituary of Betty Woodall

Betty passed away peacefully at her home on May 19,2022. Betty was born on July 4, 1937 to Maria and Francesco Esposito. She had very fond memories of her early childhood days spent living in Ocean City's Italian neighborhood on Simpson Avenue . Betty then moved to Somers Point at the age of 13 and would reside there for the rest of her life. Betty worked at the Point Diner for 25 years before beginning a 33 year career at the Buffet in the Atlantic City Hilton Casino. Betty made wonderful life-long friendships during those years. Betty's greatest calling in life was that of mother and grandmother. Mommom, as she was lovingly known, devoted her life to her family. She loved nothing more than big family gatherings in the pool yard, cooking large meals for her family, and doting on each and every one of her 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She had so many to love and she found a way to create a special bond with each one. Betty will be remembered for her loyalty to her family, her pride in her Italian American heritage, her strong work ethic, and her feisty sense of humor. She truly was one of a kind. Betty is survived by her daughters, Debra Wagner, Lisa Hillesheim (Jose), Denise McBride (Tim) ,her son Mark Wagner, her grandchildren Brian Wagner (Sheryl), Raymond Wagner (Iliese), Nicholas Wagner (Melanie), Lisa Hillesheim, Eric Hillesheim (Jessica), Stephen Hillesheim (Laura), Tim McBride, Dan Hillesheim (Lisa), Frank McBride (Hayley), Carmelo Wagner, Jason Wagner (Lizzy), Lindsay Wagner and Maria Wagner, her many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Wagner, her second husband, Frank Woodall, her son Raymond Wagner, and grandson Michael Wagner, her brothers, John Esposito, Sam Esposito, Sal Esposito, Frank (Ike) Esposito, Mary Graham, and Lucy Culver.
