Obituary of Gerald L. Bird
Please share a memory of Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gerry passed peacefully at home on December 3, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living life, as it's meant to be lived, to its fullest. His witty personality and firm business handshake will always be remembered by those who knew him. Gerry was a "Big boat that turned slow" (Gerry-ism) in making risky business moves that turned into success. Gerry's greatest joy were his children, Jenn & Chris, and his grandchildren, Raegan and Wyatt, to which he could never get enough of or stop boasting his love and admiration for. His proudest days were seeing both his children married and starting families of their own. Lorey was the love of his life, she brought Gerry an abundance of love, adventures, fun, and the pride of two more children, Brooke & Lee, as well as Lorey's family and friends. He loved you all and the Yankees too! Gerry enjoyed bourbon, books, cars, the Soprano's, steakhouses, talking and music, especially the Blues. He was a simple man in jeans, work boots and a pickup truck. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 8th 11am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 114 Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, NJ 08226. Burial private.
