Hope Zentmeyer Silenzio

Obituary of Hope Zentmeyer Silenzio

Hope Zentmeyer Silenzio, 60, of Egg Harbor Township, left us suddenly on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Hope was born and raised in Pleasantville, NJ. After attending Pleasantville High School, she went on to work at Shoprite, Mobil and then the Claridge Casino. It was there that she noticed how people's rights were violated and wrongfully terminated. This sparked a fire inside of her to fight against wrong doings. She then went on to work at NAFEC as a member of the Teamsters Union Local 331 as well as a Union Organizer. She was always looking out for the little guy and was willing to fight the biggest guy in the room if need be. Hope was always greeting everyone with a loving hug and could get to know a stranger's entire personal life while checking out at the grocery store with her happy persona. She was athletic and could shoot, throw or hit like one of the boys. Hope loved children, the elderly, and she was a proud "cat mom". Hope loved her Godchildren, nieces and nephews very much. She loved music, especially her favorite band, Heart, and was a gifted drummer and guitarist. Hope will be remembered as living life to the beat of her own drum. She was pre-deceased by her parents Alfred J. Zentmeyer Sr. and Dolores A. Zentmeyer. Hope will be missed by her husband of 20 years Mike Silenzio. Her siblings Judy (Gordy) Reed, Alfred (Lynn) Zentmeyer, Robert (Renee') Zentmeyer, William (Bridget) Zentmeyer, Faith (John) Giannini, John (Cathy) Zentmeyer, and Charity Zentmeyer. As well as her many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial gathering on Saturday, October 30th 11am-1pm at Middleton-Stroble & Zale Funeral Home, 304 Shore Road, Somers Point, NJ 08244. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Atlantic County "Yes, my soul finds rest in God; my HOPE comes from him." LAMENTATIONS 3:24 RIP "Baby Girl!"
