Obituary of William J. Donohue

William Joseph Donohue of Atlantic City, born on August 4, 1946 passed away on August 13, 2021 survived by his daughter Jackey (William) Daily. Bill grew up in Philly, lived there until he was seventeen, and then moved to New Jersey while working at Dennis Hotel in Atlantic City. At a car show he met Carol. They married in May of 1966 and lived in Pleasantville Gardens. In November of 1967 they had a daughter named Jackey. In 1970 the family moved to Somers Point. Bill was a special cop for Somers Point, later moving on to work for the Atlantic City Press as a journeyman until 1976. Bill and Carol opened a cab company called Somers Point Cab and Ocean Point Cab. Somers Point Cab ran for twenty years until Bill went back to The Press for another twenty years. Bill was a member of the Somers Point Fire Company #2 Rescue Squad and did computer service. In July of 1991 he had a granddaughter named Pauline. Pauline passed away on December 8, 1998. Carol and Bill were married 51 years before she passed on October 13, 2018. Bill is now in Heaven with his loving wife and granddaughter. Service and Burial will be held at a later date.
