Gerald F. Meister "Jerry" of Ocean City, N.J., died peacefully Wednesday, November 21, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was 80 years old.
Jerry was the beloved husband of Carol A. Meister (nee Becker) and the two would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in April. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frederick "Fritz" G. and Elizabeth A. Meister (nee Creary).
Jerry graduated from The Pennsylvania State University and went on to serve proudly with the United States Navy. He led a long career as an independent salesman with Hull Corporation and Neu Dynamics in the tool die and molding manufacturing area serving the semi-conductor industry before retiring to Ocean City, NJ from Hatboro PA. Refereeing Basketball at the college and high school levels in both the Catholic and public Suburban I Leagues of Philadelphia, was also a big part of his life and spent over 30 years running the hardwood and scouting officials.
Jerry, along with his wife, was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Ocean City and had a love of life and family. He could always be found spending time with his children or grandchildren or chatting it up with his friends at 58th Street. His heart and home were always open to everyone. Jerry could often be seen cruising on his bike while taking in the ocean breezes.
In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by his children; Kimberly Todd (Mark), Jerry (Tracey), Deanna Bardol (Randy), Craig (Renee), Gregg (Bonnie) and adopted son Edward Hill (Pam). He also leaves behind 13 loving grandchildren and brother in-law Louis R. Becker.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family visitation from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 40th & Asbury Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226, and where his Funeral Mass will commence at 10:30 a.m. His Interment will be private.
