Wednesday, February 21, 2018Dear Mort and all of the family: I was just so saddened to see Rita's name in the Little Flower Sequel. Now I know why she hadn't answered me. Rita and I grew up together & attended St. Martins, Little Flower schools and were friends/colleagues as nurses. We reconnected thru working as nurses andactually worked together at Mediplex. We have a place in OC and did got together with Jerry and Rita and my John. Rita also made my daughter's headpiece for her wedding. My husband has alzheimers as did Jerry which was another bond in the more recent years. I did leave a message to Mort on the phone last night (2/20) when I discovered she had passed. I hope she didn't suffer and happy to hear all of her family were present, as you were for Jerry. Mort, you made her very happy and glad she had you to share her last years with - and your family also. She was a good friend, spunky, funny and caring. She was truly blessed with a wonderful family who cared for her - and visa versa. So very sorry for your loss, but know you all have wonderful memoriesthat can't be taken away. Sorry I didn't know or would have been there. Keep her spirit alive and God bless all of you. Hugs, Mary
