Jimmy Dale Dudley, 80, of West Palm, Beach FL. and formerly of Linwood, NJ passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on October 19. 2017. Jimmy was born in Seymour MO, November 16, 1936 to Marvin Ray and Fern (Burks) Dudley. His most interesting life was filled with stories of living in logging camps in Oregon as a child to surviving being struck by lightning, nevertheless, on a Friday the 13th. After losing both of his parents tragically at the age of 16, Jimmy and his siblings were separated to live with different relatives. He joined the USAF at the age of 17 and continued on into the Army Reserves to serve honorably for 23 years. He married Miriam J. (nee Eckhardt) on Sept. 29, 1956. Together they raised four children in Linwood, NJ while Jimmy was employed for 35 years by the Atlantic City Electric Company, primarily as a lineman. His great work ethics and loyalty to the fellow union members and his country were admirable. Jimmy and Miriam's home was always open to any child, teenager or animal that needed shelter. His family meant everything to him. Jimmy had a knack for talking and never meeting a stranger. He told great stories and had a strong conviction of speaking the truth. His wry sense of humor got him in trouble more than once, yet he kept it throughout surviving five different cancers, none of which was his demise.
Jimmy is predeceased by his son Jimmy in 1982, his parents, a sister, Romona Rae and a brother Edwin Dean. He is survived by his wife, Miriam of West Palm Beach, a son David (wife Le) of Camas, Wa., daughter, Allison (husband Mike Hanke) of Jupiter, FL. and son, Ray of Linwood, NJ, five grandchildren, C.J., (Erin), Amanda, (Phil), Melissa, Amy and Cole, two great grandchildren, Louis and Juniper. A sister, Anita Conrad of Findlay, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews also survives him.
